SoC Lead (AI Hardware)

Location: On-site in Austin, Texas or San Jose, California

Salary: $225,000–$300,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead integration of the full chip or a major module/subsystem, including top-level integration flows.
• Own technical decisions across system functionality, DFT, power, timing, and interconnect/data-fabric architecture.
• Partner with microarchitecture, RTL, physical design, verification, and DFT leads to resolve system-level tradeoffs.
• Stay hands-on across design flows and represent chip-level architecture for advanced-node, high-speed, high-bandwidth, low-power designs.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers across specialist design domains.

Requirements

• Principal-level or equivalent technical leadership experience at a semiconductor or systems company.
• Multiple full-chip tapeouts and broad experience across design domains.
• Deep experience in CPU design or high-speed interconnect/data-fabric design.
• Experience with advanced process nodes, high-bandwidth I/O, and large subsystem or full-chip designs.
• Experience with the Cadence toolchain.
• Ability to work as either an individual-contributor technical leader or a people manager.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML accelerators or large-scale compute workloads.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted EDA flows such as Cadence Cerebrus.
