Architecture Associate (Residential Architecture)

Location: Dallas, TX; hybrid. Candidates must be located within the Dallas markets.

Estimated base salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Coordinate external architects and consultants through pre-construction, including communication, deliverable reviews, and markups.
• Manage consultant selection, onboarding, and ongoing relationships across the architectural partner network.
• Prepare and review construction documents, support permitting, respond to jurisdictional comments, and coordinate revisions.
• Ensure schematic design intent is maintained through design development and documentation while aligning with project budgets.
• Develop and refine home plan series, adapting layouts and architectural features to local zoning, site, and code requirements.
• Provide direction on exterior architecture, façade composition, material selections, and Revit model compliance while partnering with product, construction, procurement, and sales teams.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of architectural experience aligned with a Project Architect or Architectural Project Manager role.
• Experience with single-family residential projects, including zoning, permitting, and HOA approval processes.
• Strong understanding of exterior architecture, materials, composition, and residential construction systems, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, and/or Bluebeam; BIM experience required.
• Familiarity with building codes, permitting processes, and climate-specific residential construction considerations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in Florida residential markets or adapting standardized home plans across multiple markets.
• Architectural licensure or progress toward licensure.
• High-fidelity rendering experience with Enscape, Lumion, or 3ds Max.
• Experience in production or semi-custom homebuilding or boutique/custom residential design firms.
