Senior Machinist (CNC) (Manufacturing)

Location: Lakehurst, New Jersey, United States; onsite in a factory or machine shop

Salary: $38.35–$46.47 per hour

What you will do

• Operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and related electric and pneumatic tools.
• Fabricate new and replacement parts for mechanical equipment and critical Navy fleet hardware.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, and setup requirements.
• Set up fixtures, cutting tools, accessories, materials, and machine controls for precision machining.
• Monitor machine feeds and speeds, inspect work pieces, and adjust equipment to maintain production quality.
• Identify machine malfunctions and help resolve machining or quality issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 10+ years of CNC setup and operation experience in a machine shop or vocational school environment.
• Strong understanding of Fanuc control systems and required MasterCam experience and programming skills.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints, use precision measuring tools, and perform machining calculations.
• GD&T certification is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.
