Business Analyst

Location: Washington, DC; work is primarily performed in an office environment

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Analyze and document mission-support business processes, workflows, use cases, and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, QA teams, project managers, and implementation teams to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Define requirements for data integration, interoperability, structured data exchange, and interconnected systems and databases.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, document decisions, track action items, and support backlog grooming, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend process improvements while ensuring data integrity, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Support User Acceptance Testing by defining scenarios, reviewing test cases, and validating implemented solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7–10 years of business analysis experience focused on business systems, requirements, interoperability, and data exchange.
• At least 3 years of experience working in an Agile environment such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
• Hands-on experience across the System Development Life Cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, testing, and implementation.
• Experience creating BRDs, system use cases, process flows, functional requirements, technical guides, flow diagrams, data models, and swimlane diagrams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the Public Trust level.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SQL and database queries for healthcare data analysis.
• Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
