Managing Consultant (Healthcare Revenue Cycle)

Location: Remote - USA. Extensive travel required, approximately 50%–80% depending on project requirements and client expectations.

Salary: $120,000–$165,000 per year for the Managing Consultant level. Final title and compensation depend on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Plan and manage small to medium-sized healthcare consulting engagements and workstreams within larger projects.
• Lead revenue cycle initiatives spanning Patient Access, HIM/Coding, Charge Capture, Revenue Integrity, Denials and Underpayments Management, Recovery, and Patient Financial Services.
• Assess current-state operations, quantify opportunities, and develop recommendations to improve financial and operational performance.
• Create project charters, workplans, budgets, realization schedules, benefit tracking tools, deliverables, and transition plans.
• Develop financial analyses, models, and benefit realization tools using transactional and financial data.
• Manage client relationships, oversee junior staff, review work products, present findings to executive stakeholders, and contribute to business development and practice growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management, Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 5–8+ years of healthcare industry or consulting experience in revenue cycle operations, performance improvement, process re-engineering, revenue management, reimbursement, or recovery strategies.
• Extensive operational expertise in at least one revenue cycle function, such as Patient Access, HIM/Coding, Charge Capture, Revenue Integrity, Denials and Underpayments Management, Recovery, or Patient Financial Services.
• Strong project management, analytical, communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
• Experience leading project teams, mentoring junior consultants, managing concurrent workstreams, and preparing project plans, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
• Must provide verification of legal authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Applicable certifications such as CRCR, CHFP, CHAM, CRCE-I, or CRCE-P.
• Experience with revenue cycle technologies, automation tools, AI-enabled workflows, and analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, MEDITECH, or Athena/IDX.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
