News Anchor/MMJ (Broadcast Journalism)

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; onsite newsroom and field reporting duties.

Salary: $85,000–$105,000 annualized, commensurate with experience and skills.

What you will do

• Present news stories and other content across linear television, digital platforms, CTV apps, and social media.
• Write, research, copy edit, and produce clear, concise, and engaging news content.
• Produce newscasts and communicate direction to newsroom team members.
• Report from the field as an MMJ, conduct interviews, and respond to breaking news.
• Edit video clips and write content for websites and other digital platforms.
• Participate in promotional activities, public appearances, and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Fluency in English and excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to ad lib when required.
• At least five years of experience in news reporting or anchoring, depending on market size.
• Strong on-air presence, news judgment, and knowledge of local and national current events.
• Experience guiding, directing, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to work any shift and manage multiple deadlines.
