Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Report accurate and fair breaking and hard news stories for television and digital platforms.
• Develop exclusive contacts and a network of sources, especially within state and local government.
• Generate original story ideas and actively participate in editorial meetings.
• Deliver compelling live reports, ad-lib effectively, and interact with anchors in difficult conditions.
• Collaborate with photographers, producers, and assignment editors while tracking and updating story progress.
• Participate in community events and support an integrity-focused newsroom culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of reporting experience in a medium or large market.
• Strong, credible, personable, and engaging on-air presentation.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to make decisions under pressure, accept feedback, and work collaboratively.
• Flexible schedule, including additional hours or days, different shifts, and holidays.
