Staff Platform Engineer (Observability)

Location: Remote within Brazil only

What you will do

• Own the observability stack end to end, ensuring resilience, scalability, and reliability.
• Build and evolve an Observability as a Service platform based on open source standards.
• Develop self-service abstractions and Golden Paths for application instrumentation and observability lifecycle management.
• Maintain cloud-native infrastructure on Kubernetes and improve developer experience.
• Establish engineering standards, guidelines, best practices, and RFC processes.

Requirements

• Prior experience with AWS, Kubernetes, software engineering, and observability practices using open source solutions.
• Technical experience with metrics, logs, traces, and profiling.
• Proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure and cloud-native application ecosystems.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and hands-on experience with Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and knowledge-sharing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building internal tools, CLIs, or Kubernetes operators.
• Familiarity with Crossplane, service mesh technologies, and FinOps practices.
• CNCF Kubernetes, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry certifications.
