Staff Platform Engineer (AI/ML)

Location: USA Remote; Pacific Time Zone preferred, with collaborative meetings from 4 pm–7 pm PT Monday through Thursday.

Base pay range: $140,800–$176,000 per year, plus an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, development, and continuous improvement of an Internal Developer Platform integrated with AI/ML workflows.
• Build ChatOps interfaces, self-service tooling, standardized services, templates, and APIs for infrastructure provisioning and application deployment.
• Design and optimize AWS cloud and network infrastructure across scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient environments.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, platform lifecycle automation, and AI-assisted deployment workflows.
• Build AI-powered observability capabilities, including automated log analysis, anomaly detection, dashboards, and alerting.
• Lead incident management, technical decision-making, security governance, and platform engineering mentorship.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud architecture, or related fields, including at least 7 years focused on AWS.
• Extensive experience building Internal Developer Platforms with automation, self-service workflows, and CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML infrastructure, LLMs, vector databases, GPU infrastructure, and AI-powered observability.
• Advanced experience designing AWS cloud, network, and security architectures using services such as EC2, EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, VPC, and IAM.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect–Professional or equivalent certification.
• CKA or a similar Kubernetes certification.
• Experience with service meshes, API gateways, serverless architectures, multi-region or multi-cloud environments, and cloud modernization.
