Senior Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

Location: Hybrid in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with 2–3 days per week at the HQ

What you will do

• Build and operate infrastructure that keeps applications, websites, and APIs available, scalable, performant, and reliable.
• Design secure and resilient infrastructure, tooling, disaster recovery, and incident-response strategies.
• Develop observability systems covering metrics, logging, tracing, alerting, debugging, and system health.
• Create shared infrastructure and self-service tooling that improves developer workflows and delivery practices.
• Advocate for SRE principles, engineering excellence, and platform standardisation across engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating production systems at scale, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Deep AWS experience, including VPCs, routing, load balancing, DNS, secure system design, and infrastructure cost trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience designing, operating, and scaling Kubernetes clusters in production.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, ideally with Terraform, plus configuration management and packaging with Helm.
• Experience with GitOps, Argo CD, GitLab CI, observability systems, and incident management tools such as PagerDuty.
• Must be living in the Netherlands and able to work from the Amsterdam HQ 2–3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with Datadog and Sentry.
• Understanding of platform engineering concepts such as self-service, golden paths, and standardisation.
• Product-oriented mindset and experience collaborating with engineering teams to drive adoption of platform tools.
