Recycle Technician

Location: Livonia, Michigan, United States

Salary: $15.50–$16.50 per hour

What you will do

• Collect, salvage, inspect, and sort reusable, recyclable, and waste materials.
• Maintain docks, collection areas, and multiple collection containers.
• Follow safety rules, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Maintain clean work areas, logs, and schedules.
• Work with employees, supervisors, managers, customers, and the shift lead to complete assignments and punch-list items.
• Perform repetitive physical tasks, including lifting or moving up to 35 pounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; 1–2 years of recycling experience in a company environment or equivalent training and experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Completed safety and task training certifications.
• A valid driver’s license, forklift certification, or RCRA hazardous waste handling training may be required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification is a plus; bilingual ability is a plus.
