Plant Maintenance Technician

Location: Beacon, New York, USA; onsite plant maintenance role

Pay range: $29.15–$40.10 per hour, depending on the locality of hire.

What you will do

• Diagnose mechanical problems using charts, diagnostic software, technical manuals, and practical expertise.
• Repair and maintain recycling equipment, compact heavy equipment, light trucks, and rolling stock.
• Maintain hydraulic systems, industrial electrical systems, 480V balers, conveyors, and compactors.
• Replace conveyor belts, electrical motors, hydraulic cylinders, pistons, rods, gears, valves, bearings, and other parts.
• Repair or install plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems as needed.
• Document work orders, parts usage, labor time, consumables, fuel, and oil usage while following safety procedures.

Requirements

• At least one year of related equipment maintenance and repair experience or a trade school certification.
• Mechanical and electrical aptitude with PLC troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work with conveyors and industrial equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures and communicate equipment issues clearly.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical or trade school certificate.
