Lead Python Software Engineer

Location: Colombia or Chile; remote/office work type

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable backend solutions with Python and Flask across the full software development lifecycle.
• Own technical implementation and contribute to solution design, technical decisions, and engineering improvements.
• Build and maintain microservices, integrations, and data-driven functionality using PostgreSQL and relational databases.
• Analyze backlog items, estimate development efforts, and decompose features into technical tasks.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, business analysts, designers, and client stakeholders.
• Contribute to testing, debugging, CI/CD, and reliable deployments across AWS environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial Python software development experience.
• Advanced Python 3.x expertise and hands-on Flask experience.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge, including PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on AWS experience and understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
• Practical experience with testing, debugging, and unit testing.
• Ability to work autonomously, own technical decisions, and communicate effectively in English with international teams and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka, gRPC, or similar integration technologies.
• Knowledge of React or experience supporting web and mobile applications.
• Healthcare industry experience or previous Tech Lead responsibilities.
