Lead Process Mechanical Engineer

What you will do

• Lead process engineering design for pet food, meat processing, and industrial manufacturing projects.
• Develop project scopes, process design basis documents, material balances, PFDs, and P&IDs.
• Specify process mechanical equipment and support instrumentation design and process integration.
• Interpret plant operating data and develop safe, efficient process solutions using engineering judgment.
• Perform process calculations and simulations using AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, HTRI, and similar tools.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams while supporting construction, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and junior staff mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 8–15+ years of process engineering experience in industrial manufacturing environments.
• Successfully passed the Professional Engineer exam.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering principles, industrial systems, process safety, PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, and equipment specifications.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or lean process methodologies.
• Strong engineering judgment, communication, leadership, collaboration, and entrepreneurial skills.

• Experience with field construction support, commissioning, and process startup activities.
