Senior Network Engineer, VoIP

What you will do

• Design, deploy, optimize, and support enterprise VoIP and Unified Communications environments across on-premises and cloud-based networks.
• Architect Cisco Unified Communications Manager, UCCX, voice gateways, SIP platforms, dial plans, partitions, calling search spaces, translation patterns, and route patterns.
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex voice network incidents, analyzing packet captures and SIP signaling to resolve jitter, latency, and call-routing failures.
• Monitor traffic, utilization, and network performance; identify root causes, implement tuning, and reduce recurring issues.
• Develop scripts and playbooks to automate network administration and repetitive processes.
• Lead architectural reviews, technology evaluations, modernization initiatives, technical documentation, and cross-functional engineering discussions.

Requirements

• At least five years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience with Cisco Collaboration and Unified Communications technologies, including CUCM, UCCX, Unity Connection, SIP, RTP, SDP, codecs, TLS/mTLS, and SRTP.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, Quality of Service, traffic engineering, filtering, tuning, network architectures, and enterprise data centers.
• Experience with packet capture and call analysis tools, including Wireshark.
• Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, communicate clearly, and provide technical leadership and mentoring.

Nice to have

• Cisco Certified Voice Professional or equivalent certification.
• Experience leading site surveys, capacity planning, end-user analysis, and physical or logical VoIP deployments.
• Experience migrating legacy TDM/PBX systems to modern VoIP architectures.
• Experience with major upgrades, patches, firmware updates, database replication health checks, Ansible, and Python scripting.
• Exposure to private SaaS, edge computing, IoT, and network transformation initiatives.
