Laboratory Technician - Rapid Microbiology (Grand Island, NE Day-Shift)

What you will do

• Perform microbiological testing of food products using approved traditional and rapid methodologies.
• Prepare media, reagents, and samples, then complete sample receipt, processing, incubation, interpretation, and reporting.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, automated microbial detection systems, and related instrumentation.
• Maintain documentation in accordance with cGMP, GLP, SOP, compendial, and data integrity requirements.
• Support environmental monitoring, microbiological investigations, method validations, verifications, and technology transfers.
• Review data before release and assist with inventory management, consumable ordering, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• 0–3 years of laboratory experience in microbiology or a regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, medical device, or related environment.
• Basic understanding of aseptic technique and microbiological laboratory practices.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and time management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in a laboratory environment, including prolonged standing, walking, repetitive tasks, and occasional weekend, holiday, or off-shift coverage.

Nice to have

• Experience in a GMP-regulated laboratory or familiarity with food safety.
• Experience with rapid microbiological technologies, automated systems, or laboratory information management systems.
