Seed Analyst

Location: Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada; onsite laboratory role

What you will do

• Carry out seed testing methodologies under Canadian Methods and Procedures or equivalent ISTA, AOSA, and REGAL documentation.
• Prepare samples for testing, planting, and evaluation within accredited areas of responsibility.
• Supervise Seed Analyst Trainees and Lab Technicians.
• Maintain compliance with SGS quality, environmental, health and safety, integrity, and professionalism policies.
• Identify quality problems, prevent non-conformances from reaching clients, and recommend corrective solutions.
• Travel to other SGS or client locations and work extended hours or shifts when required.

Requirements

• Mandatory CFIA seed analyst accreditation or equivalent ISTA, AOSA, or REGAL accreditation.
• Experience working in an accredited laboratory and specialized technical training equivalent to two or three years of college beyond high school.
• High school diploma.
• High accuracy, attention to detail, reliable attendance, and the ability to follow instructions independently.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Nice to have

• French bilingualism.
• Seed Import Conformity Assessor certification.
