Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global's global headquarters

Base salary: $82,400–$126,000 USD annually. Total compensation, including equity: $89,350–$143,625 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Design and support spacecraft electrical harness layouts, including connectors, backshells, wires, shielding, split locations, and lengths.
  • Generate connector pinout tables from spacecraft interconnect diagrams and maintain harness bills of materials in the PLM system.
  • Create documentation for electrical system schematics and harness designs.
  • Develop test plans and procedures for avionics subsystems and components.
  • Analyze and evaluate avionics circuits to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Support electronic assembly design and represent the avionics electrical engineering team in internal and customer-facing reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline.
  • Experience with electrical engineering or avionics for the Engineer I level.
  • At least 2 years of electrical engineering or avionics experience for the Engineer II level.
  • For work in the United States, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required government authorizations.
  • Ability to work in production areas with occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes, and to spend prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer.

Nice to have

  • Master's or PhD in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline.
  • Aerospace or defense industry experience, including satellite development or operations.
  • Experience with LTspice, Altium, Siemens Teamcenter, JAMA, or electrical subsystem testing.
  • Knowledge of space environment, orbital mechanics, rigid body dynamics, power electronics, communication interfaces, signal integrity, grounding, instrumentation, and sensors.
  • Experience with thermal vacuum, random vibration, or hardware-in-the-loop testing.
