Senior Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote or on-site in New York, New York, US, or San Francisco, California, US

Salary: $175,000–$250,000 per year

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and improve the analytics engine powering the core product.
• Productize AI, machine learning, and data analysis capabilities.
• Architect, maintain, and optimize distributed and parallel high-performance computing systems.
• Design scalable, performant software solutions and write maintainable, testable code.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and research staff on new features and novel problems.
• Contribute across software engineering, data visualization, and scientific computing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience building scientific or quantitative data-intensive software.
• Expertise in scientific Python, object-oriented and test-driven development, vectorized code, and machine learning.
• Experience architecting and optimizing distributed, parallel computing systems.
• Knowledge of AI operations, software architecture, and scalable system design.
• Advanced STEM degree, such as an MSc or PhD.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and technical mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Celery and MongoDB.
• Thorough knowledge of Linux.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
