AI Developer/Applied ML Practitioner (AI)

Salary: $155,000–$162,500–$170,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop analytical products, dashboards, predictive models, and decision-support solutions for FAA mission operations.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into analytical workflows, actionable insights, and data visualizations.
• Explore and prepare data, perform feature engineering, and apply statistical modeling techniques.
• Design, train, optimize, deploy, test, monitor, and improve machine learning models.
• Build LLM workflows, AI-powered applications, autonomous agentic workflows, and reusable analytics components.
• Implement responsible AI and machine learning solutions while collaborating with stakeholders on advanced analytics opportunities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in data science, IT, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of software development experience, including coding and configuring AI applications in cloud environments.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, and Palantir Foundry.
• Experience with LangChain, vector databases, and machine learning frameworks.
• Experience implementing tool and function-calling in autonomous AI agentic workflows.
• Experience with LLM techniques, including retrieval augmented generation.

Nice to have

• Experience developing prototype AI solutions and analytics accelerators for emerging technologies.
• Experience supporting government or FAA mission operations.
