Writing Associate Producer, MS NOW The Moment with Katy Tur

Location: New York, NY; must be willing to work in New York and have unrestricted work authorization in the United States.

Salary: $75,000–$80,000 yearly

What you will do

• Research, report, and write daily segments for The Moment with Katy Tur.
• Determine video and sound elements for assigned segments and produce on-screen content.
• Communicate story development with the senior producer and participate in editorial planning.
• Pitch story ideas and develop segments for broadcast.
• Research, write, and edit lower-third banner chyrons and other MS NOW graphics content.
• Create content for digital platforms, social media, and MS NOW direct-to-consumer products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of journalism experience in cable or network news, websites, newspapers, or a related environment.
• Strong writing, research, and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of American politics, American history, global news, current events, and pop culture.
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY and hold unrestricted United States work authorization.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and meet tight deadlines, including during breaking news.

Nice to have

• Experience developing story ideas, booking guests, and planning segments.
• Experience working with graphics and video elements.
• Edit room and breaking news experience.
• Proficiency in tape and desktop editing.
