Salary: $33/hour or more, commensurate with skill level and experience

hirify.global operates KTLA, a local television and digital news organization serving the Los Angeles market.

What you will do

• Write, report, research, curate, and publish accurate news stories for KTLA.com.
• Create and promptly update social media posts for Facebook, X, and Instagram.
• Respond to breaking news, rewrite stories with new information, and prioritize coverage for the audience.
• Manage livestreams and edit and publish video clips for the website and social channels.
• Integrate digital coverage with broadcast operations by working with the assignment desk, show producers, and on-air reporters.
• Work independently and collaboratively while handling multiple deadlines and changing priorities.

Requirements

• At least three years of news experience and a bachelor's degree.
• Excellent written and verbal command of English.
• Strong newswriting, reporting, sourcing, transparency, journalism ethics, and news judgment.
• Experience in a local newsroom, particularly digital or local television news, is strongly preferred.
• Experience with nonlinear video editing and web publishing systems.
• Availability for early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, schedule changes, and occasional last-minute fill-in requests.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Photoshop or similar photo-editing tools.
