Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant (Healthcare Insurance)

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year

What you will do

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory financial statements for submission to the NAIC and state regulatory authorities.
• Prepare supplemental statutory filings and submit reports using vendor software while meeting regulatory deadlines.
• Support insurance department and division audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries.
• Support NetSuite development testing and ad hoc reporting for statutory financial statements.
• Lead and participate in statutory reporting and finance projects, including reinsurance accounting initiatives.
• Review statutory financial statements and supplemental filings and provide additional support during peak reporting periods.

Requirements

• Experience with reinsurance accounting from implementation through reporting.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including complex formulas.
• Demonstrated success delivering financial reporting in changing and complex environments.
• Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to manage multiple demands independently, meet deadlines, and contribute immediately.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with professional and regulatory standards.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Workiva (Wdesk).
• Experience in healthcare and insurance industries.
• Experience reviewing statutory filings.
• Exposure to using AI tools to automate reconciliations, improve filing accuracy, and streamline data collection across jurisdictions.
