Financial Reporting Associate - Life & Health

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, US. Hybrid work requires at least three days in the office each week, with the option to work onsite full-time. The role is not eligible for full-time telework or relocation assistance.

Estimated base salary: $52,000–$78,000 per year, plus potential additional compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Prepare and compile accurate financial information on a U.S. Statutory basis.
• Support legal entity performance analysis through variance analysis and trend monitoring.
• Assist with period-end close and reporting activities while maintaining controls and deadlines.
• Execute assigned control activities and maintain thorough documentation.
• Identify process improvements and apply automation, AI-enabled solutions, and modern technologies.
• Collaborate with internal partners and global Finance teams on reporting and analytical requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and interest in reporting and automation tools.
• Interest in using modern technologies and AI to transform Finance processes.
• Strong organizational skills, intellectual curiosity, and ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines.
• Proactive approach to continuous learning and self-development.

Nice to have

• Experience in life and health insurance, financial reporting, public accounting, or audit.
• Progress toward or completion of CPA certification.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Alteryx, or similar financial systems and reporting automation tools.
• Experience with U.S. Statutory or IFRS accounting standards in the insurance industry.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional or global teams.
