Financial Reporting Associate - Life & Health (AI)

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, US; hybrid work with at least three days in the office each week, or onsite full-time. Not eligible for full-time telework, relocation assistance, or visa sponsorship.

Base salary: $52,000–$78,000 per year.

What you will do

• Prepare and compile accurate financial information on a U.S. Statutory basis.
• Support legal-entity performance analysis through variance analysis and trend monitoring.
• Assist with period-end close and reporting while maintaining controls and deadlines.
• Execute assigned control activities and maintain documentation within the financial reporting environment.
• Identify process improvements and leverage automation, AI-enabled solutions, and modern technologies to improve efficiency and strengthen controls.
• Collaborate with internal partners and global Finance teams on reporting and analytical requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and genuine interest in learning reporting and automation tools.
• Strong interest in using modern technologies and AI to transform Finance processes.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a reporting environment.
• Intellectual curiosity, including the ability to perform root-cause analysis and understand and challenge the status quo.
• Proactive approach to continuous learning and self-development.

Nice to have

• Exposure to U.S. Statutory accounting or insurance accounting.
• Experience in life and health insurance, financial reporting, public accounting, or audit.
• Active progress toward CPA certification or a CPA designation.
• Familiarity with financial systems or reporting automation tools such as Power BI or Alteryx.
• Experience with U.S. Statutory or IFRS accounting standards in the insurance industry.
• Experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional or global team environment.
