Design Engineer – Mechanical / Electrical

Location: Decatur, IL or Mossville, IL, United States; in office 5 days a week. Travel up to 10%. Relocation assistance is available. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Salary: $89,210–$133,810 per year

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design and integration of electrical systems across large wheel loaders, compactors, wheel tractor scrapers, underground vehicles, and articulated trucks.
• Design components, brackets, harness routing paths, enclosures, and installation schemes that balance electrical performance with mechanical durability.
• Own cost, quality, validation, and schedule for assigned engineering projects from concept through production.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical systems, manufacturing, supplier, purchasing, product development, and product support teams.
• Address manufacturability, serviceability, assembly feasibility, tolerance stack-up, and installation repeatability.
• Coordinate prototype builds, testing, analysis, and design reviews covering fit, form, function, durability, and design standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related accredited engineering discipline.
• Experience with vehicle systems integration, routing, packaging, structural interfaces, and installation design.
• Ability to lead multiple engineering projects in a cross-functional environment from concept through production.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems and their interaction within complex products.
• Experience with Creo, Vis View, and Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, installation methods, and design-for-assembly principles.
