Design Engineer (Powersports)

Location: Wyoming, MN, USA; onsite role with travel to domestic and international technology partners.

Salary: $76,000–$100,000 per year in Minnesota.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, validation, manufacturing support, and production implementation of powersports vehicle subsystems and components.
• Create and maintain requirements, specifications, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, engineering drawings, and design documentation.
• Manage subsystem development plans from concept through purchasing, manufacturing, and production release.
• Lead supplier reviews and collaborate with engineering, design, product management, quality, manufacturing, and other stakeholders.
• Evaluate manufacturing methods and improve virtual product development, laboratory testing, production processes, and product quality.
• Analyze field issues, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and advocate for innovative technologies and supplier solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline and a minimum of 2 years of design engineering experience.
• Experience leading product designs from concept through production, with understanding of stamping, injection molding, extrusions, weldments, and mechanical systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate vehicles for development and testing.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, dimensional tolerance stack-up analysis, and fit-and-finish evaluation.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects and provide technical leadership in a team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work with and travel to domestic and international technology partners.
