Application Engineer 3

Location: Fort Meade, Maryland, United States; onsite role with rotating 6 am–6 pm / 6 pm–6 am shifts for 24/7 application support

Salary: $129,000–$159,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop capabilities that automate security evaluation and authorization workflows, approvals, continuous monitoring, assessment, and network data gathering.
• Monitor and maintain application systems to ensure data reliability, accuracy, availability, and performance.
• Track metrics, logs, dashboards, alerts, and application status, and troubleshoot configuration, code, and system issues.
• Support watch floor operations by identifying service degradation, failed data flows, system errors, and application issues.
• Perform basic Linux administration, including service management, log review, resource validation, and server reboots.
• Use the AWS Console or AWS CLI to check EC2 health, review system status, restart or reboot servers, and troubleshoot operational issues.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• Technical experience and education must be directly related to the labor category and credentials must come from accredited institutions.
• Minimum experience requirements vary by education: 10 years with a high school diploma/GED, 8 years with an associate degree, 6 years with a bachelor's degree, 4 years with a master's degree, or 2 years with a doctorate.
• Proficiency in monitoring and watch floor operations, Linux systems administration, or AWS operations is required.
• Availability for rotating 12-hour shifts is required to provide 24/7 application support.
