Transmission Planning Staff or Senior Engineer (Power Systems)

What you will do

• Model and analyze transmission power systems using steady-state and stability simulations.
• Develop study scopes supporting long-range transmission system plans.
• Coordinate planning assumptions with Integrated System Planning departments.
• Communicate study results through written reports, presentations, virtual discussions, and data visualizations.
• Improve planning procedures, resolve complex technical and business problems, and implement NERC and FERC compliance activities.
• Assign tasks, mentor engineers and technicians, and support the delivery of multiple projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics from an ABET-accredited curriculum or recognized equivalent.
• Staff level: 2+ years of demonstrated experience and experience with at least one transmission analysis tool.
• Senior level: 5+ years with nationally recognized certification or 7+ years without certification.
• Experience with power-system transmission analysis tools such as PSSE, TARA, EMS, ASPEN, CAPE, PROMOD, PLEXOS, PowerWorld, or PSCAD.
• Knowledge of power systems studies or transmission planning and related disciplines.

Nice to have

• EIT/FE or PE registration.
• Graduate degree in Engineering or Physics.
