Maintenance Technician TIER 1 (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; onsite industrial chemical manufacturing environment. The role requires an unrestricted right to work in the United States and availability for assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, emergency call-ins, and alternative schedules.

Salary: $38.17 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour shift differential for eligible hours worked from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

What you will do

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, seals, bearings, gearboxes, valves, piping, pneumatics, hydraulics, mixers, reactors, compressors, HVAC systems, and boilers.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance needs to minimize downtime and repeat failures.
• Complete equipment alignment, piping repairs, welding, fabrication, component replacement, rebuilds, and adjustments within established qualifications.
• Support equipment installation, modification, relocation, commissioning, and reliability improvements.
• Document inspections, repairs, labor, parts, and equipment conditions in CMMS/EAM systems.

Requirements

• Unrestricted right to work in the United States required.
• High school diploma or GED and at least four years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
• Mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work with industrial mechanical equipment and read manuals, mechanical drawings, schematics, procedures, and work instructions.
• Working knowledge of industrial safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout, plus basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work in chemical manufacturing conditions involving hazardous chemicals, confined spaces, elevated areas, PPE, respiratory protection, and lifting up to 65 pounds.

Nice to have

• Technical or trade school education, apprenticeship, or industrial maintenance training.
• Chemical, batch, continuous-process, or similar manufacturing experience.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, industrial utilities, CMMS/EAM, SAP, HMI, VFDs, Siemens systems, or AutoCAD.
• California Electrician Certification, Journeyman Electrician credential, NFPA 70E, OSHA 10, or OSHA 30 training.
