Quality Assurance Automation Engineer Lead

Location: Farmington Hills, Michigan, United States; 3-day hybrid onsite work required

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of custom test automation frameworks and define automation strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Partner with product teams to establish automation requirements, test plans, scenarios, cases, and coverage.
• Manage manual and automated testing, including System Integration Testing phases, scope definition, progress reporting, and coverage analysis.
• Integrate automated tests into DevOps build and release pipelines and ensure reliable, robust workflows.
• Mentor QA engineers through best-practice guidance, technical development, and code reviews.
• Plan automation initiatives, manage resources and deliverables, and report on progress, cost savings, and efficiency gains.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience, plus 8 years of quality assurance experience.
• Proven experience leading large-scale, complex projects and mentoring QA teams.
• Expertise with Selenium, Cucumber, Guidewire GT framework, TestComplete, and Postman.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Atlassian tools, GitLab, Jira, and Xray.
• Strong scripting and database skills using SQL, Python, and Java, including data validation, migrations, and data-driven testing.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum practices, DevOps pipelines, performance and load testing, infrastructure as code, cloud platforms, and containerization.

Nice to have

• Experience in the insurance industry or with Guidewire insurance applications.
• Experience with Test Driven Development or similar advanced testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of security practices and compliance standards for automated processes.
