MES Engineer (Manufacturing Execution Systems)

Location: New London, North Carolina, USA

Salary: $80,000–$115,000 USD per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus or role-based sales incentive plan.

What you will do

• Manage daily MES issues and coordinate technical support across manufacturing sites.
• Design and develop MES front-end applications using Ignition.
• Define, lead, and deploy software implementations across manufacturing operations.
• Translate business and shop-floor requirements into functional MES specifications.
• Support production execution, routing, work instructions, data collection, quality, and traceability functionality.
• Coordinate testing, deployment, change management, training, adoption, and post-deployment improvements.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of software development experience.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• Understanding of computer programming and application development.
• Experience with project coordination, timelines, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Microsoft SQL databases, HTML, Java, and Expression languages.
• Experience implementing software applications in production and providing daily software support.
• Knowledge of PLC programming, tag structures, and data collection.
• Knowledge of SCADA or MES platforms such as Ignition.
• Knowledge of ERP functionality, BOMs, product configuration, production scheduling, or Oracle Cloud Fusion ERP.
