Cybersecurity Engineer (Security & Compliance)

Location: On-site in Austin, Texas; candidates must be based in the United States. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Persons in compliance with 10 CFR Part 810 and may not hold non-compliant foreign citizenships. Occasional travel to hirify.global sites and work outside normal business hours may be required.

What you will do

• Implement, administer, and monitor endpoint, network, email, identity, vulnerability management, SIEM, and cloud security controls.
• Investigate security events and support incident containment, remediation, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with internal teams, system owners, and third-party providers.
• Translate cybersecurity policies, standards, and compliance requirements into technical and administrative controls.
• Maintain security documentation, architecture diagrams, incident response playbooks, risk registers, control evidence, and remediation plans.
• Support audits, customer security reviews, regulatory and contractual compliance activities, vendor risk assessments, and security awareness training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information security, information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least three years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, systems security, or a related IT or security role.
• Working knowledge of endpoint security, network security, identity and access management, vulnerability management, logging/SIEM, and cloud security.
• Experience supporting cybersecurity technologies such as EDR, firewalls, email security platforms, SIEM tools, IAM solutions, or cloud security controls.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, and/or CMMC, plus experience with risk assessments, documentation, audits, or compliance activities.
• Strong investigation, communication, organizational, documentation, and prioritization skills.

Nice to have

• Experience combining cybersecurity engineering with governance, risk, and compliance responsibilities.
• Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with vendor cybersecurity risk assessments, secure configuration standards, technical baselines, metrics, dashboards, or management reporting.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, GSEC, or CCSP.
• Experience in a regulated industry or an environment with contractual cybersecurity requirements.
