TL;DR
Cybersecurity Engineer (SIEM): Conducting security assessments, penetration testing, forensic investigations, and SIEM-based monitoring for client/server systems, databases, networks, and technology systems with an accent on incident response, vulnerability management, and security policy enforcement. Focus on analyzing correlated security events, identifying vulnerabilities and attack vectors, managing IDS/IPS and network defenses, and coordinating remediation across the enterprise.
Location: Arlington, VA; requires one day onsite

What you will do
- Conduct technical security assessments, audits, penetration testing, and forensic investigations across client/server systems, databases, networks, and vehicle or appliance technology systems.
- Configure and manage SIEM capabilities, including event collection, log management, correlation, compliance automation, and identity monitoring.
- Analyze security events and identify immediate corrective actions, emerging trends, and areas requiring continued monitoring.
- Define, review, and enforce information security policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Coordinate incident response, intrusion detection management, customer security advisories, and security awareness activities.
- Identify technical and functional security risks and support vulnerability and patch management programs.
Requirements
- At least three years of proven information systems security engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business, physical science, or another technology-related discipline.
- In-depth, hands-on experience configuring and managing one or more SIEM tools, including log collection, normalization, correlation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience with penetration testing, technical security assessments, vulnerability and patch management, and automated and manual security testing.
- Experience managing routers and firewalls, IDS/IPS, Windows and Linux security, virtualized systems, and database security.
- Experience with incident response, forensic IT investigations, security policy enforcement, regulatory compliance, and scripting with Python or Bash.
