Senior Avionics Source Inspector, Harness, First Shift (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. Onsite role with approximately 80% travel to local and domestic supplier facilities. First shift: Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. PT, with a 50-hour workweek including 10 guaranteed overtime hours weekly.

Hiring range: $31.20–$46.80 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Perform in-process and final inspections of cable and harness assemblies at supplier facilities and internal manufacturing.
• Conduct source inspections, supplier audits, and quality and compliance activities during frequent travel.
• Review purchase orders, certificates of conformance, test reports, material traceability, and shipping documentation.
• Verify parts against engineering blueprints, wire schematics, bills of materials, technical manuals, and specifications.
• Conduct electrical continuity and resistance tests using DMMs and other portable measuring devices.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and document nonconformances.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a cable and harness inspector or assembler in an electronics manufacturing environment, preferably in quality.
• Ability to travel approximately 50–80% of the time.
• Knowledge of cable and harness assembly and inspection according to NASA-STD-8739.4 and/or IPC-A-620.
• Experience conducting continuity tests with DMMs and portable measuring equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, internal specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Familiarity with avionics systems, components, and installations, with strong attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience with process development and first-time quality initiatives.
• Experience leading projects or teams and driving quality improvements.
• Current or previous certification in IPC-A-620, IPC-A-610, or J-STD-001.
