Technical Customer & Applications Support Supervisor - Invitro Diagnostics

Location: On-site in Samrand, Gauteng, South Africa; requires up to 30% overnight travel within the territory and a valid driver’s license. South African citizenship is required.

Compensation includes eligibility for a 10% Beckman Diagnostics Global ICP Bonus Plan, plus medical insurance, pension, paid time off, and car allowance and insurance for eligible employees.

What you will do

• Supervise Application Specialists and Customer Technical Support Specialists across two departments.
• Oversee Command Center operations, facilities, ISO compliance, regulated processes, and compliance training.
• Lead customer-facing projects, including large-scale diagnostic instrument rollouts, escalations, and stakeholder meetings.
• Identify customer and internal training needs, develop tailored programs, and deliver workshops, mentoring, and technical presentations.
• Manage the local training center, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, vendors, and consultants.
• Drive process improvement, performance management, standard work procedures, and collaboration with Sales, Field Service, Product Development, and global support teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical science, medical laboratory science, biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in people management, including performance and talent management.
• Knowledge of diagnostic instruments or laboratory workflows and experience with customer technical support systems.
• Understanding of healthcare regulatory standards, including ISO and Good Documentation Practice.
• Experience developing technical training and delivering presentations.
• South African citizenship, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel up to 30% are required.

Nice to have

• Honours or master’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Management, particularly Project Management, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
