Software Engineer - NTN (O-RAN)

Location: Site-based hybrid role requiring work at least 3 days per week from a hirify.global office or work location in Germantown, Maryland; Carlsbad, California; or Duluth, Georgia.

Salary: $140,500–$221,500 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $174,000–$261,000 annually.

What you will do

• Develop and integrate O-RAN-based radio unit management-plane software.
• Integrate radio unit software with distributed units, SMO systems, and network management applications.
• Design and implement applications for configuring, updating, and monitoring hardware systems.
• Maintain and automate CI/CD pipelines for software builds, testing, and deployments.
• Support production and laboratory environments, including embedded systems and programmable logic integrations.
• Maintain and update production applications and network components in a DevOps model.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience with O-RAN and 3GPP technologies.
• Experience developing and integrating O-RAN radio units across C/U/S/M planes, with strong knowledge of O-RAN fronthaul and M-plane specifications.
• Experience with network programming, embedded environments, and multi-vendor software integration.
• Proficiency with NetConf, YANG, JSON, Docker, Kubernetes, Golang, Python, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
• US citizenship or permanent resident status is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with O-RAN software providers and 3GPP/O-RAN C/U/S/M-plane development.
• Practical CI/CD and DevOps experience.
• Strong software debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of multithreading and operating-system concepts.
