Senior IoT Solutions Engineer (NB-IoT NTN)

Location: Hybrid, three days per week in Mountain View, California, United States

Salary: $155,000–$165,000 base salary per year, plus benefits and equity options.

What you will do

• Own chipset and module bring-up on the hirify.global network, including attachment, provisioning, firmware validation, AT-command behavior, and certification support.
• Develop reference designs, integration guides, reference architectures, debugging tools, support playbooks, and developer onboarding journeys for OEMs and enterprise customers.
• Analyze NB-NTN radio behavior, including link budgets, Doppler compensation, timing advance, satellite visibility windows, and store-and-forward versus real-time modes.
• Design and validate terrestrial-to-non-terrestrial network switching, network selection, RRC behavior, and reliable device configuration.
• Build end-to-end data flows from embedded firmware through the network core to customer clouds such as AWS IoT and Azure IoT, including APIs, webhooks, and network-exposure interfaces.
• Act as the top-tier technical escalation point, reproducing and resolving issues across devices, RAN, core, networking, and application layers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IoT solutions engineering, embedded systems, field applications engineering, or a highly technical customer-facing engineering role.
• Hands-on C/C++ embedded development, RTOS experience, module bring-up, cellular AT-command interfaces, modem logs, packet-level debugging, and PCAP analysis.
• Strong cellular IoT, NB-IoT, and NB-NTN knowledge, including 3GPP Release 17 NTN concepts, RRC, NAS, PSM, eDRX, RAI, registration, attach sequences, SIM/eSIM profiles, and PLMN selection.
• Experience with chipsets and modules, RAN and RF debugging, TN-to-NTN switching, network selection, and satellite-link constraints.
• Knowledge of CoAP, LwM2M, MQTT or MQTT-SN, NIDD, embedded C, Python, AWS IoT or Azure IoT, device identity and security, and cloud/API integration.
• Strong IP networking knowledge covering APN, IP addressing, DNS, routing, NAT/firewalls, IPsec/VPN, private connectivity, and GTP or GRX/IPX.

Nice to have

• Experience with NB-IoT NTN, satellite IoT, 3GPP standards, or roaming.
• Familiarity with Wireshark, signaling analytics, BigQuery, or developer portals.
• Experience creating developer documentation that reduces incoming support tickets.
• Familiarity with NEF/SCEF and CAMARA-style network-exposure APIs.
