Location: Onsite in Groton, Connecticut, United States. Weekend and holiday work is required, with a 6:00 AM–2:30 PM shift and weekends every other week. The role requires reporting to the designated work location during emergencies or operational suspensions.
Salary: $26.86–$44.77 per hour, plus eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday, and other pay premiums.

What you will do
- Perform routine husbandry, handling, restraint, and health surveillance for all animal species housed at the site.
- Observe and report animal health, food and water consumption, appearance, and behavior.
- Provide basic veterinary medical treatment support as prescribed by veterinary staff.
- Support research investigators with restraint, dose administration, injections, and blood collections.
- Operate and maintain cage wash equipment and manage animal supply inventory.
- Train and mentor new hires in animal husbandry and facility support duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work standing for extended periods, including lifting above shoulder level.
- Ability to perform repetitive physical activities such as pushing and pulling caging racks, lifting feed and bedding, reaching, stooping, and bending.
- Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. by any employer.
- Before hire, provide proof of measles immunity or receive measles vaccination to enter nonhuman primate areas.
Nice to have
- Pharmaceutical setting experience or relevant certifications.
- Familiarity with animal care and welfare regulations.
- Experience with cage wash equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, prioritization, and independent and collaborative working skills.
