Описание вакансии
Текст:
TL;DR
Senior Reliability Engineer (Aerospace): Building the reliability function for launch vehicles and liquid rocket engines with an accent on failure analysis, physics-of-failure assessment, and propulsion test planning. Focus on identifying single points of failure, evaluating redundancy and common-cause risks, analyzing cryogenic failure modes, and driving anomaly resolution with lightweight Python-based tools.
Location: On-site in Kent, Washington, United States. ITAR requirements apply: applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, protected individuals, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.
Salary: $140,000–$185,000 annually.
Company
Corporation is building modular satellites and space-based solar energy infrastructure for orbital power generation, high-performance computing, and secure optical data transport.
What you will do
- Establish the reliability approach and determine the appropriate analysis depth for each subsystem.
- Own FMEA/FMECA, fault-tree, common-cause, single-point-failure, and redundancy analyses across vehicles and engines.
- Apply physics-of-failure principles to fatigue, thermal cycling, cryogenic effects, contamination, wear, LOX, and LNG service.
- Define test objectives and instrumentation requirements before hardware is built.
- Lead failure reviews, corrective actions, and root-cause investigations for test anomalies.
- Build lightweight Python and version-control tooling and teach engineers to identify failure modes early.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience in reliability, mission assurance, or systems engineering with direct reliability ownership.
- Strong command of FMECA, fault-tree analysis, common-cause analysis, reliability allocation, Weibull analysis, and life-data analysis.
- Hands-on hardware testing and anomaly investigation experience.
- Python skills sufficient for Monte Carlo analysis, life-data fitting, and internal tooling.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar field.
- U.S. work authorization or eligibility for the ITAR authorizations required for the role.
Nice to have
- Launch vehicle or liquid rocket engine experience, especially with cryogenic systems.
- Reliability experience with rotating machinery such as turbopumps, bearings, and seals.
- Propulsion or structural testing, instrumentation planning, and data reduction experience.
- Experience establishing a reliability function, probabilistic risk assessment, supplier quality, or reusable vehicles.
Culture & Benefits
- Equity in Corporation.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and eligible dependents.
- 401(k) retirement savings plan.
- Paid time off, 10 paid holidays, and paid parental leave.
- Relocation assistance where applicable.
- Daily office lunch and a stocked kitchen with beverages and snacks.
