Lead Network Engineer (Traffic Management)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States; at least 3 days per week in the office required. The role requires 5–10% travel.

Salary: $173,100–$276,800 USD per year, with potential bonus, equity, and sales incentive payments where applicable.

What you will do

• Design and implement traffic management technologies across private data centers, hybrid cloud, and public cloud environments.
• Define traffic management strategies and long-term network architecture for hybrid and multi-cloud adoption.
• Architect and deliver multi-CDN, DNS, load balancing, proxy, and application delivery solutions.
• Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code and automation templates for traffic management infrastructure and platform components.
• Design secure, scalable, repeatable, efficient, and highly available solutions while integrating legacy systems.
• Collaborate with cloud, systems, cybersecurity, infrastructure, operations, and product development teams; provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience with an advanced degree or PhD.
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code development and deployment in hybrid cloud environments using AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• At least 4 years of experience with traffic management technologies, including public cloud, CDN, load balancing, proxy solutions, and Terraform frameworks.
• Experience with Terraform, Terragrunt, env0, Ansible, Python, Chef, Puppet, Salt, or ARM/Bicep.
• At least 5 years of experience with CDN platforms such as Akamai or Cloudflare and load balancers such as F5 or NGINX.
• Experience with network security, firewalling, VPNs, cloud-native and hybrid solutions, and production container technologies including Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
