Staff Network Engineer (SaaS)

Location: Palo Alto, California, with a hybrid mix of working from home and in the office and regular in-person touchpoints. Technology hubs are located in Atlanta, Georgia, and Washington, D.C. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $195,000–$220,000 annual base salary for the full-time position, with potential additional equity, bonuses, commission, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, implement, secure, and operate high-performance network topologies for Internet-facing SaaS applications and APIs.
• Manage Dell switches, routers, PAN firewalls, VLANs, DMZs, WAFs, and connectivity between data centers.
• Build consistent network-as-code deployments and configuration management across public cloud and data center environments.
• Conduct security assessments, incident triage, security-event investigations, and incident response while preserving forensic data.
• Improve network monitoring, incident reporting, availability engineering, performance metrics, and operational testing.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with DevOps and other technical specialties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and at least 8 years of professional Network Engineering experience.
• Professional experience with Dell OS10, Dell network switches, PAN firewalls, cloud-based WAFs, and AWS.
• Strong knowledge of network security, intrusion detection, TCP/IP, BGP4, OSPF, Ethernet switching, VLANs, VPN, IPSEC, ACLs, RADIUS, and related protocols.
• Strong scripting and automation experience with Python, Ansible, automated firewall policy management, Git, and configuration management.
• Experience with Linux and Unix command-line environments, data center network design, monitoring tools, uptime engineering, and multi-tier architectures.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

• Professional information security certification such as CISSP, CRISC, or CISM.
