Systems Engineer Lead

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado; must be local to the work location. Occasional telework is available.

Salary: $125,614.73–$218,419.64 annually. The posting also lists $3,000 under Salary.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems and IT infrastructures.
• Guide a team of systems engineers and oversee engineering initiatives.
• Provide technical expertise on infrastructure, architecture, system integration, and configuration management.
• Define systems engineering and architecture standards for effective deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with product owners, project managers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders on system solutions.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and deliver practical solutions to complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree with 10–12 years, master's degree with 8–10 years, or PhD with 5–7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in systems engineering, network administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of leadership or team management experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms, virtualization, networking protocols and hardware, operating systems, automation, scripting, DevOps, CI/CD, and containerization.
• Strong communication, delegation, troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration, and Agile/Scrum skills.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Systems engineering or cloud certifications.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices, IAM, security monitoring, and ITIL.
