Power Architect (AI Hardware)

Location: Sunnyvale, California, United States; hybrid

Salary: $230,000–$275,000+ annually, with potential bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Lead system architecture exploration focused on power delivery and thermal management.
• Drive vertical power delivery to the wafer and develop ultra-high-current-density solutions.
• Define detailed power specifications with product, ASIC, and systems teams.
• Architect power delivery systems optimized for electrical performance and cooling efficiency.
• Evaluate architectures and strategic partners or vendors for new technology development.
• Oversee power delivery solutions from concept through production and optimize integration across package, silicon, PCB, and mechanical systems.

Requirements

• MSEE or MSCE required; PhD or equivalent industry experience preferred.
• 15+ years of hands-on experience in power delivery systems.
• Strong knowledge of energy-efficient system design, thermal modeling, and cooling implementation.
• Experience with high-current, low-voltage power delivery for advanced silicon.
• Experience with multiphase buck regulators, digital power controllers, DrMOS, smart power stages, and integrated voltage regulators.
• Experience with server hardware, AI accelerators, datacenter hardware, or enterprise products, plus strong collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Expertise in DC-DC power conversion, control loops, power management, magnetics, and filter design.
• Background in semiconductor technologies, PMICs, integrated power modules, and custom inductor design.
• Experience developing power modules with optimized thermal and magnetic characteristics.
• Experience with package PDN design, power vias, bumps, interposers, substrates, and ASIC power delivery structures.
• Expertise in chiplet-based power architecture, IVRs, advanced packages, or 2.5D/3D integration.
