US base salary: $120,000–$300,000 annually

What you will do

  • Own the end-to-end power architecture for next-generation portable devices.
  • Define the power distribution network and select PMICs, chargers, fuel gauges, and protection ICs.
  • Lead the selection, characterization, and safety validation of Li-ion and Li-poly battery cells.
  • Develop power models covering idle, peak-load, and standby scenarios, including strategies to prevent system brownout.
  • Design and optimize USB-C PD and/or wireless charging circuits, including thermal stability and fast-charging compliance.
  • Measure DC-DC converter efficiency, optimize firmware settings, and ensure compliance with UL, IEC, UN38.3, and EMI/EMC requirements.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience integrating and configuring high-performance PMICs from vendors such as Qualcomm, TI, Nordic, or Maxim.
  • Deep knowledge of Battery Management Systems, fuel-gauging algorithms, and state-of-charge estimation.
  • Expertise with power analyzers, electronic loads, and high-resolution current-sensing tools.
  • Strong understanding of PCB power layout, loss minimization, and high-current path management.

Nice to have

  • Experience with driver-level power management and I2C/SMBus communication.
  • Experience with Flotherm or Icepak for thermal dissipation simulations.
  • Proficiency in SPICE or MATLAB for transient analysis and loop-stability modeling.
