Staff Network Engineer (AI Platform)

Base salary range: $1–$1 USD for the listed San Francisco, New York, and Seattle locations.

What you will do

• Own network architecture and standards for the hirify.global Generative AI Platform across AWS, Azure, GCP, and customer-controlled environments.
• Design and review VPCs, peering, DNS, load balancing, CDN and edge configurations, routing, VPNs, firewalls, ingress, and egress.
• Define standard connectivity between the platform control plane and customer data planes using private connectivity, VPNs, and reverse tunnels.
• Establish customer-boundary delivery patterns for code, images, artifacts, CI/CD, private registries, and ingress.
• Own engineer access, Kubernetes networking, service mesh, cloud CNI choices, and NetworkPolicy controls for untrusted agent-sandbox workloads.
• Partner with security engineering, debug hybrid and multi-cloud incidents, and document architecture, standards, and runbooks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of network engineering experience designing and operating production cloud networks.
• Deep expertise in at least two of AWS, Azure, and GCP, including VPC design, peering, hub-and-spoke topologies, private connectivity, and DNS.
• Strong Kubernetes networking expertise covering CNI, ingress, NetworkPolicy, and Istio/Envoy service mesh.
• Strong fundamentals in TCP/IP, BGP, routing, firewalls, site-to-site and client VPNs, and TLS.
• Experience defining and enforcing network standards, making build-versus-adopt decisions, and influencing teams without direct authority.
• Infrastructure-as-code proficiency, preferably Terraform, plus excellent communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloudflare or similar edge and traffic-management platforms.
• Experience with network security and compliance in healthcare, finance, government, FedRAMP/GovCloud, and air-gapped environments.
