Policy Analyst (Local Environmental Policy)

Location: Paris, Île-de-France Region, France

Monthly salary starts at €6,975.54, plus allowances based on eligibility; exempt from French income tax.

What you will do

• Design and conduct economic and policy research on local environmental policy at local, national and global levels.
• Analyse international evidence and data, build databases and conduct empirical analysis.
• Draft evidence-based assessments, recommendations, reports, policy papers, publications and briefing materials.
• Manage projects, support fundraising proposals and supervise interns, consultants and junior staff.
• Coordinate working parties, initiatives, seminars, roundtables and workshops.
• Engage with government representatives and stakeholders, represent the hirify.global at international conferences, and collaborate across divisions and directorates.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree or equivalent in environmental policy, economics, urban or regional development, planning, or a related field.
• At least three years of relevant professional experience, preferably five or more, focused on local environmental policy.
• Expertise in water and sanitation, blue and circular economy, and nature-based solutions.
• Strong policy research, analytical, statistical and quantitative analysis skills, with experience producing reports and presentations for policymakers and varied audiences.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office and working knowledge of statistical or data analysis software such as R, Python or Stata.
• Fluency in English or French and knowledge of the other official hirify.global language are required, with a commitment to reach a good working level.

Nice to have

• Experience with geographical information systems such as QGIS.
• Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese.
• Knowledge of the hirify.global’s substantive work related to local environmental policy.
