Senior Project Manager (R&D)

Location: Fully remote within the United States, or hybrid at the corporate headquarters in Del Mar, California, with approximately 2 days per week in the office.

Salary: $95,000–$113,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional product development teams from concept through commercialization.
• Plan and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, milestones, and status reporting across multiple concurrent projects.
• Coordinate engineering, marketing, manufacturing, regulatory/quality assurance, and product management stakeholders.
• Facilitate product commercialization, phase review discipline meetings, governance tracking, and transfer from R&D to manufacturing.
• Drive process improvements in product development, resource management, design controls, efficiency, and compliance.
• Present project updates to stakeholders and executive management while managing risks, changes, escalations, and priorities.

Requirements

• Work authorization in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent education and applicable experience.
• At least 2 years of project management experience, including end-to-end software or medical device projects.
• Experience with agile methodologies, Scrum ceremonies, SDLC, phase-gate processes, milestone tracking, and post-production launches.
• Experience using Jira, Confluence, and MS Project for planning, estimation, and collaboration.
• Ability to manage cross-functional matrix teams, stakeholders, resources, project changes, risks, and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• PMP, Scrum, SAFe, or Certified Scrum Master certification.
• Experience in software, medical device, FDA-regulated, or ISO 14971 environments.
• Experience managing multiple projects or products for people with diabetes.
• Knowledge of web applications or cloud software.
