Director, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting

Location: United States remote; work on-site in Salt Lake City once a week or work remotely and travel to Salt Lake City once a quarter

What you will do

• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, new business initiatives, and evolving accounting standards.
• Research, analyze, and document non-standard accounting conclusions in position papers for auditors, lenders, and the board.
• Own purchase price accounting for current and future M&A transactions.
• Lead the GAAP financial reporting process, annual audited financial statements, footnotes, quarterly debt covenant packages, and audit coordination.
• Oversee accounting for corporate debt and the end-to-end equity process, including administration and development of the Equity Manager.
• Maintain financial reporting controls and lead automation and process improvements for the Financial Reporting portion of the Maximor implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.
• Active CPA license or equivalent professional certification.
• 10+ years of combined public accounting and industry experience.
• Deep expertise in technical accounting, US GAAP, reporting requirements, ASC 805, and stock-based compensation.
• Experience with SOX-compliant environments, internal controls, M&A accounting, corporate debt, credit agreements, and debt modification and extinguishment analysis.
• Ability to work on-site in Salt Lake City once a week or work remotely and travel there once a quarter.

Nice to have

• Hedge accounting experience.
• Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP.
• Experience with equity administration and Shareworks.
• Experience with Claude or other AI platforms.
