Corporate Controller (SaaS)

Location: Remote for candidates located within the Washington, DC, New York City, Philadelphia, and Minneapolis–St. Paul metropolitan areas. Travel up to 10%, including overnight travel.

What you will do

• Lead accounting operations, including the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, consolidations, and financial reporting.
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting organization across close, payroll, reporting, and technical accounting functions.
• Oversee U.S. GAAP accounting for complex transactions, revenue recognition, purchase accounting, CECL, accounting policies, and internal controls.
• Manage treasury operations, cash-flow forecasting, debt and lender reporting, tax coordination, and sales tax compliance.
• Lead annual audited financial statements, external audits, acquisition accounting, and post-acquisition integration.
• Transform accounting systems and processes by using automation, AI, and cross-functional collaboration to reduce the close timeline from 9 business days to 5.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including 5+ years leading accounting teams and month-end close activities.
• Active CPA license and strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting requirements.
• Experience in a complex organization and in a publicly traded, private equity-backed, or similarly rigorous reporting environment.
• Experience leading accounting process improvements and financial system implementations.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, reporting, and process design skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with SaaS or subscription-based business models.
• Merger and acquisition accounting and post-acquisition integration experience.
• Experience with automation, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled accounting solutions.
• Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Snowflake, ADP, Avalara, Coupa, Concur, Brex, or Tableau.
