AI Principal Engineer

Location: CT-Windsor, One Orange Way, United States

Annual base salary: $192,580–$240,720 USD, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of production-grade AI solutions, including LLM-based applications, retrieval pipelines, and model-driven services.
• Own technical direction for major components or domains within AI platforms and products.
• Drive model evaluation, testing, monitoring, lifecycle management, and operationalization practices.
• Translate product, data, and business requirements into scalable AI solutions.
• Contribute to architecture decisions covering model selection, system integration, and API design.
• Ensure security, privacy, responsible AI, enterprise standards, and production reliability while mentoring engineers and mitigating technical risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Significant experience delivering production AI/ML systems, including model deployment and operationalization.
• Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks, LLM technologies, and data pipelines.
• Knowledge of model lifecycle management, MLOps, and production reliability practices.
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives and collaborate across disciplines.
